Overview: In this highly customizable lesson or mini-unit, students explore the flow of stormwater on their school grounds, practice map-making, and identify potential sources of stormwater pollution. Depending on time and desire, this investigation can result in an excellent classroom discussion, or be expanded to lead to an exciting, schoolwide improvements like building a rain garden or inspiring a pollution prevention program.
Learning Objective: Objectives: Students will not only review the concept of stormwater, but will develop competenciesin map-making; and design creative solutions to stormwater pollution through authentic project-based learning.
