Time & Location
About the Event
Audience: Outdoor School providers, ODS non-formal educators and 7th-8th grade classroom educators
Format: Interactive, online, one session
Using the Essential Question “How does culture influence how land is managed for fire?” as a framework and a truma-informed lens, we will engage in activities that incorporate discussion, reading, and hands-on activities to understand competing management techniques and respect for differing beliefs and priorities. We will introduce the new “K-12 Fire Essential Question Progression,” a resource for educators, to discuss and practice incorporating fire into your teaching and learning, while considering some of the challenges involved in exploring fire concepts with students.
